Curbside Christmas Tree Collection Ends Jan. 11 In Oswego

If you miss the Jan. 11 cutoff, city officials say you'll have to wait until yard waste collection begins in earnest in April.

OSWEGO, IL — Village officials say curbside Christmas tree collection will continue through Jan. 11, so if you're in search of a way to dispose of your tree before it turns brown and drops pine needles all over the living room rug, listen up.

Officials say to place your bare tree, free of lights, ornaments, tinsel or any other decorations by the curb on your regularly scheduled trash day. And don't bother bagging the tree or placing a yard waste sticker on it.

If you miss the Jan. 11 cutoff, city officials say you'll have to wait until yard waste collection begins in earnest in April, at which time a sticker will be required.
