Demolition Set For Future Site Of Mexican Restaurant In Oswego
The demolition of 63 W. Washington, the white house along Washington Street, is expected to get underway Monday morning.

OSWEGO, IL—The village of Oswego has announced that demolition of 63 W. Washington, the white house along Washington Street, is scheduled take place around 7 a.m. Monday. The site is the future home of a Mexican restaurant developed by JLAT, the team behind Potter’s Place and Jimmy’s Grill, both of Naperville. Once completed, this space will be part of a three-story mixed use development.
This is the one of several new developments planned for Oswego’s downtown area.
The village last fall authorized a redevelopment agreement for the new Mexican restaurant. Under the deal, Oswego will transfer ownership of the property to the developer for $10.

Public improvements related to the development will be paid by the village and reimbursed by way of tax increment finance revenue. This will include a new public parking lot, reconstruction of a portion of Adams Street, alley redesign and infrastructure improvements.
Any private development costs are going to be covered by the developer.
