Flower Pressing for Home Décor

Learn techniques to craft beautiful botanical art and décor.

The upcoming program of Hilltop Gardeners Garden Club will be Flower Pressing for Home Décor, presented by botanical artist Virginia Stibbe. The public is invited to attend this event, which follows refreshments and a short meeting. The art of flower pressing began in the Victorian era and more recently has seen a surge in popularity. The demonstration will show how to successfully remove moisture from flower petals and leaves to make pictures under glass and many other decorative items. Stibbe does juried art shows, garden shows and various festivals and markets her botanical art in several gift shops and garden centers.

The meeting will be held in the second floor meeting room at the Oswego Public Library, 32 West Jefferson Street in Oswego from 9 to 11 a.m. For more information email vgierhart@aol.com or call Lisa, 630-788-5962.
