House Fire in Boulder Hill

No residents were home, but firefighters recovered a dog from the burning house

Firefighters from the Oswego Fire Protection District and other agencies responded to a fire on Surrey Road in the Boulder Hill area around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday night.

Crews arrived to find a fire in an attached garage that was spreading to the rest of the house. Firefighters contained the fire to the garage and the kitchen of the house, though smoke damage was noted throughout the structure.

No residents were home at the time, but firefighters recovered a dog from the house. The dog is in good condition. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Crews from Montgomery, Bristol Kendall, Aurora Township, and Plainfield assisted at the scene and with station coverage during the incident.
