Why are you running?

I have been serving the residents of DuPage County for 22 yrs and now wish to continue my public service in the role of Oswego Township Highway Commissioner. I have lived in Oswego for over 20 yrs and this is where we have chosen to raise our family. I have attended several other township and road district meetings over the years and feel my experience would be of great value to Oswego Township.

Previous or Current Elected or Appointed Office:Sergeant-at-Arms and Republican Precinct Committeeman.

Campaign Website: None

What do you hope to accomplish in office?

Create true transparency within the office, open a better line of communication with township taxpayers and trustees, establishing an OSHA certified practice of training to ensure safety of workers which will reduce the potential liabilities on the taxpayers and auditing the books while completing a complete inventory of all Highway road district property as required by state statue.

How would you hold local government employees accountable?

I would improve the time clock system currently in place, do random job checks, citizen surveys and feedback and update policy and procedure manual.

Explain your attitudes toward fiscal policy, government spending and how taxpayer dollars should be handled by your office (or board)?

I would do a complete assessment of operations and spending. I will also be looking into the bid process, and work closely with the trustees on all projects.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

I am Federal Emergency Management national incident command certified, experienced with major project management, and with a commercial construction surveying background, staff management of over 70, training manager for over 125 staff, experienced in budgeting for non profit and profit operations. Managed grants as well as major projects and worked with other Highway Commissioners and Supervisors for the benefit of residents.

What else would you like voters to know about you and your positions?

When elected, I will ensure there is complete transparency within the Highway Commissioners office. The most important thing I have learned while serving the public for almost 22 years at a local Sheriffs Office is to have strong moral principles, be honest and treat everyone with integrity. I look forward to serving you as your Oswego Township Highway Commissioner. Thank you.
