Kendall Co. Seeks Volunteers For Mass COVID-19 Vaccine Campaign
Individuals who are licensed to deliver vaccinations are needed, as well as individuals proficient at data entry and other supportive roles.
KENDALL COUNTY, IL — The Kendall County Health Department is looking for people to help with the mass coronavirus vaccine campaign.
In a news release Thursday, county health officials said that due to the size of the pandemic and the response, several volunteers will be needed. Interested volunteers will support public health efforts to ensure as many people as possible are vaccinated. Individuals who are licensed to deliver vaccinations are needed, as well as individuals proficient at data entry and other supportive roles.

In a call with county leaders Thursday, Illinois Department of Public Health Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike, said the state is expected to get the first batch of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine on Dec. 10. Out of the 110,000 vaccines, Chicago will receive 24,000 and the rest will be distributed across the state.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is scheduled to consider approval of the vaccine for emergency use Dec. 10. Following which, Illinois will receive an additional 250,000 doses and then another 300,000 the following week. Group 1C is yet to be determined but will likely include seniors and those with pre-existing health conditions, she said.

Ezike said she expects 80 percent vaccination over the summer.
