Parking in a Handicapped Spot Leads to Arrest for Fleeing, Resisting: Police
About 10 police units from different agencies responded after the man resisted arrest, authorities said.

On Saturday night, about 10 units from the Oswego Police, Montgomery Police and the Kendall County Sheriff's Office responded to a fleeing suspect at the Walmart on Route 34. Demetrius Bradley, a 26-year-old from Montgomery, was eventually arrested -- and it all started with an illegal parking job.
An officer initially noticed a vehicle parked in a handicapped spot without a placard. The officer approached the two people in the vehicle.
Bradley, the driver, gave the officer false information about his identity, and the officer had Bradley exit the vehicle.

"When he was asked to step out of the car, that's when he started resisting," Oswego Police spokeswoman Cathy Nevara said. The officer called for assistance.
Two Patch readers noted the significant police response, which consisted of about ten units from different agencies.

Bradley ran into the Walmart, but was later apprehended by police. He was taken to the Kendall County Jail, and he has been charged with obstructing identification, resisting/obstructing a peace officer, not having a valid driver's license and illegally using a handicapped parking space.
Bradley reportedly had an outstanding warrant from Aurora, Only Oswego reported.
A passenger who was in the vehicle with Bradley was not arrested.
Charges and an arrest are simply accusation of a crime and they are not a finding of guilt.
