MLK Day 2018: What's Open, What's Closed In Oswego & Beyond

MLK Day has many volunteer and service opportunities throughout the community.

OSWGO, IL — Martin Luther King Jr. Day falls on Jan. 15 this year. Federal offices will be closed to observe Dr. King's birthday. The holiday was intended to be a day of service and reflection. Neighboring Aurora is hosting a day of volunteering for Monday.

For a little bit of fun, Oswegoland Park District is hosting a snow tubing day at Wilmot Mountain. They'll hit the tubing lanes for three hours at South Point, 810 Preston Lane in Oswego. There isn't a lot of space left, so sign up soon if you're interested.

Libraries: Oswego and Montgomery campuses will be open during their regular hours, 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.

Schools: Oswego School District 308 & Yorkville CUSD 115 schools will be closed.

Village of Oswego offices: Closed

Trash service: Garbage pickup will resume as usual in Oswego.
