Montgomery Man Charged with DUI After Head-On Oswego Crash

Both drivers were taken to a hospital for their injuries.

OSWEGO, IL — A 51-year-old Montgomery man has been charged with driving under the influence after causing a head-on collision Wednesday evening.

At around 7:30 p.m. Oswego police were sent to a crash on Route 30. A Nissan SUV driven by Brian E. Neupert, of the 100 block of Circle Drive W in Montgomery was traveling eastbound on Route 30 when he crossed the centerline and struck a Chevy Sedan driven by a 55-year-old Aurora woman, according to the Oswego Police Department.

Police say Neupert crossed the centerline and struck the Chevy head on. The Aurora woman had to be extricated from her vehicle and both drivers were taken to a local hospital for their injuries. Their conditions are unknown. No passengers were in either vehicle.

Neupert has been charged with aggravated driving under the influence and aggravated driving while license revoked. Neupert was also cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Route 30 was closed for around one hour during the crash investigation.
