More Information Released on Multi-Vehicle Crash in Oswego
Two people were hospitalized for injuries sustained in the crash.

OSWEGO, IL — More information has been released regarding the rollover crash Friday afternoon in Oswego.
At around 4:05 p.m., Oswego police were sent to the intersection of Orchard and Mill roads for the accident. A vehicle driven by Blaine M. Allen, 21, of the 0-100 block of W. Highland Drive in Bristol, was traveling westbound on Mill Road and struck a vehicle traveling northbound on Orchard Road, according to the Oswego Police Department.
Preliminary information obtained during the investigation indicates Allen entered the intersection against a red light, struck a Hyundai Accent driven by a 33-year-old Montgomery man and then rolled over landing partially on the hood of a Saab 97x driven by a 27-year-old Oswego man, which was southbound in the left turn lane towards eastbound Mill Rd. Debris from the crash also struck the windshield of a Ford Fusion driven by a 21-year-old Sandwich woman.

Allen had to be extricated from his vehicle and was airlifted to a hospital for his injuries. The driver of the Hyundai was transported by local paramedics to an area hospital for his injuries. No information is available on the condition of those transported to hospitals.
Allen was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. The intersection of Orchard and Mill was closed for approximately eight hours while police reconstructed the crash as part of their investigation.
