'No Justified Reason' For The Killing Of George Floyd: Sheriff
"I have never seen such an abuse of police power," Kendall County Sheriff Dwight Baird said in a release on Friday.
OSWEGO, IL — Kendall County Sheriff Dwight Baird release a statement Friday, condemning the four Minneapolis police officers involved in the death of George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man who died Monday after an officer knelt on Floyd's neck while trying to arrest him.
"In my 29 years of law enforcement and training, I have never seen such an abuse of police power as I did when I watched the video of George Floyd’s killing in Minneapolis," Baird said in his statement. "Based on just the video I can see no justified reason for the actions of the police officer. This type of action has not, and will never be, tolerated at the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office."
