Obituary: ​Tyler M. Behnke

The 19-year-old Oswego resident passed away suddenly Oct. 10 in Charleston.

Tyler M. Behnke, 19, of Oswego, IL, passed away suddenly October 10, 2016, in Charleston, IL. He was born June 6, 1997; son of Mike and Cyndee (Leedom) Behnke. Tyler was a student at Eastern Illinois University majoring in business management, and a member of the Zeta Gamma chapter of the Pi Kappa Alpha "Pike" fraternity, and was given the pledge name of "Behnke."

When Tyler was little, he enjoyed police cars and fire trucks and when he was older he enjoyed political and crime solving movies. Tyler is preceded in death by 2 grandfathers; Paul (Ann) Behnke and Jack (Marie) Leedom. 1 great aunt; Darlene "Deanie" (the late Charles) Wolgast and 1 aunt; Kristine (Robert) Maher. He is survived by his parents, 1 sister; Jackie, 1 brother from another mother; Kevin Fiddick and the Fiddick family, 1 aunt; Karen (Paul) Garfoot, 2 Uncles; Kevin (Heidi) Behnke and Mike Wolgast, 2 grandmothers; Ann (the late Paul) Behnke and Marie Leedom. 8 cousins; Andrew Behnke, Anna Behnke, Zandyn Bezzi, Bradyn Bezzi, Devyn Garfoot, Adam Wolgast, Matt Wolgast and Leanne Sellers, Members of the Pi Kappa Alpa fraternity "Pike"; Zeta Gamma Chapter, his first love; Emily Weyl and her parents; Dave and Nancy and his last love; Paige Gemein and her parents; Fred and Jenny Nowaczyk and his favorite dog and little brother Mason.

Tyler would want everyone to "Keep It Lit"! Family will be receiving guests Saturday Oct. 15, 2016 from 10 a.m. until time of service; 2:00 p.m. at Dieterle Memorial, 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery, IL. Interment-private. In Lieu of flowers, donations to Mike Behnke; In turn the funds will be donated to the Zeta Gamma Chapter of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity at Eastern Illinois University.
