Oswego Bank Site Of Free Shred Event

The Oswego Police Department and First National Bank of Oswego encourage the public to shred old documents at the May 18 event.

OSWEGO, IL — The Oswego Police Department and First National Bank of Oswego are looking to do their part to prevent identity theft. The May 18 event is free to the community and the public is encouraged to drop in.

Among the documents that should be shredded when they are no longer needed are change receipts, copies of credit card applications, insurance forms, physician statements, checks, bank statements, and expired charge cards and credit offers.

Free shredding will be made possible thanks to a partnership between the Oswego Police Department and First National Bank of Oswego.

The event, which takes place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on May 18, will be held at First National Bank and its Oswego branch, 6601 Route 34.
