Oswego Board Approves $10,000 For Beats And Eats
The musical events in downtown Oswego raise money for charity

On Tuesday, the Oswego Village Board approved $10,000 of funding for Beats and Eats, according to Only Oswego. The three part concert series will feature music live music and food vendors.
The village funds are for items to facilitate the event, such as fencing, staging and portable toilets.
At the Village Board meeting, Organizer Macey Brooks acknowledged a small financial loss at last year's events.

"We're trying to do more than throw a party," Brooks said according to Only Oswego. Brooks said that $10,000 had been donated to charity over the past four years of the events. According to the Beats and Eats website, the event seeks to raise money for a scholarship fund that supports musical and culinary students.
The vote was 3-1, with Trustee Pam Parr voting against the move.

"Last year we spent $10,000 and put in over 150 man hours," Parr said according to Only Oswego. "I don't mind supporting events like this, but eventually we need an exit plan."
The events will be held on Saturdays May 27, July 29 and August 26.
