Oswego Delta Sonic Plans Move Forward Despite Sign Taken Down
The car wash company took down the "coming soon" sign, which will likely be replaced, according to the Village.

OSWEGO, IL — The Delta Sonic car was is still a go, despite a "coming soon" sign being taken down. It was removed by Delta, according to Rod Zenner, community development director for the Village of Oswego. He said it will likely be replaced when construction starts this year. The proposed site is at the corner of Route 34 and Kendall Point Drive in Oswego.
There was pushback from some neighbors during the approval process, specifically when it came to traffic and noise. The village said it has approved a plan that addresses those concerns directly. For example, the car was will be located at the furthest point possible from the residents. The was and vacuum stations will be in enclosed buildings to reduce sound.
"The southern end of the property will contain a solid fence and evergreen trees to provide additional screening. The access drive along Kendall Point Drive is designed to be a full access in from the north and south and an exit north only, a change to the plan that was requested by neighbors to prohibit vehicles from exiting the Delta Sonic and traveling south into the residential neighborhood," said Zenner in an email.

Now that all of the zoning requirements have been met, all that needs to be done is submitting building plans and receiving a building permit. The Village said it will keep residents informed of when they'll break ground.
Kendall County Now reported in November that the village board approved plans in November.
