Oswego Family Makes Snow Sculpture Of Bernie Sanders

OSWEGO, IL — Inspired by the recent Bernie Sanders meme that has taken over social media since the inauguration of President Joe Biden last month, an Oswego family decided to create an artistic snow sculpture.

After the biggest snowstorm of the area brought in several inches of snow over the weekend, Jennifer Sherlock, who lives in the Ogden Fall neighborhood, made a snow sculpture of Sanders, similar to his photos where he is seen in oversized mittens and a brown coat, socially distancing on a folding chair with crossed legs and arms.

Jennifer enlisted the help of her husband Kevin and daughters Eveline and Abigail to make this unique sculpture, complete with a COVID-19 mask and glasses. She said it took them approximately an hour to create.

While Jennifer and Kevin focused on the sculpting, their daughters helped fill sleds with fresh snow for them to use.

"We like to create snow sculptures with our kids as a family activity, especially this winter when COVID-19 has kept us home more than usual," Jennifer said. "In addition, we do it to bring a little joy to our neighborhood during the cold winter months."

In the past, this family has also created the adorable Baby Yoda and the most popular snowman Olaf.
