Oswego Hiring Summer Interns
The village is looking for college students to work in marketing, code enforcement and public works and as temporary seasonal workers.
OSWEGO, IL —The Village of Oswego has announced it is hiring summer, college interns in marketing, code enforcement and public works. The interns will have an opportunity to gain hands-on experience, while building their resume.
The internships include:
- Marketing and Events: Interns in this area gain real-world experience in marketing, content writing, social media and event planning and management. In the position, interns will be able to add to their creative portfolios by writing and curating content for the village websites and social media channels.
- Code Enforcement: Interns will help identify code violations in the village related to weeds, watering and other summer issues. Interns will work alongside code enforcement officers and gain experience in government operations, customer service and building and development issues.
- Public Works: Interns will assist the public works department with data entry and records management and have the opportunity to work on engineering projects and sustainability initiatives.
According to the village, interns will work 30 to 40 hours per week, and earn $12 per hour.

That is the hourly rate for temporary seasonal public works positions, which also are open to currently enrolled students. In these positions, which have full-time hours, students will have an opportunity to learn more about how the village operates, while performing tasks related to village streets, forestry and water.
