Oswego Kids Shop With Cops At Meijer

Meijer donated 18 gift cards to kids so they can shop for themselves and family.

OSWEGO, IL — Oswego police officers took School District 308 students shopping at the Oswego Meijer to spread some holiday cheer. Organizers chose students who would benefit the most from Thursday's inaugural "Shop with a Cop" program.

Each of the 18 children were partnered with a police officer. Meijer donated a $100 gift card to each teams so the kids could purchase gifts for themselves and family members. They also made holiday crafts with the cops while their presents were being wrapped.

"This was a great opportunity to foster positive relationships between youths and officers," said a press release from the Oswego Police Department.
