Oswego Museum's Exhibit Honoring Early Residents Now Online

Since the Little White School Museum is closed due to the pandemic, the exhibit "At Home in Oswego's Past" can be toured virtually.

OSWEGO, IL — Despite the Little White School Museum being closed due to the pandemic, its "At Home in Oswego's Past" exhibit is available for online visitors.

In a release Monday, the museum announced that guests can take a virtual tour of the exhibit which harks back to the days of one's ancestors in the 19th and 20th centuries.

The exhibit will help visitors discover the home life of that era using rarely-seen photographs, documents, and artifacts selected from the museum’s extensive collections, the release said. The extensive home-life exhibit was curated by museum volunteer Stephanie Just with the assistance of assistant museum director Bob Stekl and museum staffer Sarah Kimes.

"Our series of special exhibits mounted in-house give is a chance to pull a number of our seldom-seen artifacts, documents, and photographs out of storage for the community to enjoy," said museum director Roger Matile. "And the special traveling exhibits we bring to the community help enhance the story we tell of the Oswego area’s rich history."

“At Home in Oswego’s Past” will be available online 24 hours a day throughout this summer free of charge. If the museum is allowed to open this summer, the exhibit will be available daily during regular hours, Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. To view the exhibit, visit here.
