Oswego Police Blotter Oct. 3-4

OSWEGO, IL — Here are some mid-week thefts, arrests and incidents from around town:

Oct. 3: Nelson Loja Quito of Niles, IL, accidentally drove a vehicle into cable wires at 1625 Wolf Rd.

Sept. 30 (reported Oct. 3): $250 worth of goods taken from the Oswego Meijer, 2700 Route 34.

Oct. 3: A three-way car accident at 1:11 p.m. on Route 34, east of Boulder Hill Pass, resulted in an injury. 65-year-old Martha Baumann of Oswego was transported to Rush Copley Medical Center with minor injuries. The other two drivers, Lucas Berndl, 26, and Hazel Waclaw, 88, did not report injuries.

Oct. 3: Police caught 36-year-old Andrew Tews driving with a revoked license, no insurance, disobeying a traffic signal and not complying with cellphone laws. Tews had two warrants out for his arrest and was detained just before 10 a.m.

Oct. 4: A traffic accident at 2:51 p.m. at Route 34 and Pearces Ford Road resulted in more than $1,500 worth of damage. One of the drivers was 16 years old from Aurora, the other, 22 of Aurora. Damages were valued over $1,500. They were driving a Nissan Sentra and a Ford Fusion. No injuries were reported.

Sept. 29 (reported Oct. 4): $1500 worth of jewelry was stolen from a residence on Cascade Lane near Pearces Ford Road. The thief took a jewelry box when the victim was in the process of moving into a newly purchased home.

Oct. 4: A two-way traffic accident resulted in the arrest of 41-year-old Amy Roesch of Sugar Grove. She was driving with a suspended license when she failed to yield while making a left turn at the corner of Route 34 and Douglas Road. Her vehicle collided with a minor’s vehicle, who is from Montgomery. They were both taken to the hospital for injuries.
