Oswego Police Issue 54 Seat Belt Citations In Recent Campaign

Police also issued another six citations for distracted driving and three for speeding between June 17 to July 6.

OSWEGO, IL — Oswego police officers joined more than 200 local agencies in the Fourth of July's Click It or Ticket campaign. From June 17 through July 6, it issued 54 seat belt and child safety seat citations, the department said Tuesday.

On top of pulling over drivers who weren't buckled up, Oswego police also wrote up six distracted driving citations, three speeding tickets and one for disobeying traffic lights.

The police department also arrested a 35-year-old Villa Park resident on an outstanding Kendall Count warrant June 28.

During the recent enforcement period to encourage seat belt use, Oswego police were also on the lookout for drunk and drugged drivers.

The enforcement period was funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of a statewide Click It or Ticket campaign.
