Oswego Police Reports From Jan. 13 - 18
Oswego Police blotter includes Christmas craft theft, stolen cell phones & violence at a gas station.

OSWEGO, IL — Police had their hands busy with no shortage of car accidents, finding people with warrants, a couple thefts and a domestic battery incident at a gas station. The following items were taken from Oswego Police Department press releases from Jan. 13 through Jan. 18. All charges are merely accusations and and all defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in the court of law.
An Oswego man was arrested Jan. 18 at 4:25 p.m. after a traffic incident near Route 25 and North Street. Steven P. Givens, 57, was taken to a hospital after police say he struck a sedan that was turning left. The other person involved, a 25-year-old from Montgomery, was not taken to the hospital. Givens was charged with failure to yield. The accident occurred around 2:25 p.m., according to the police report.
Armando Carzares, Jr., 23, of the 00 block of N. Broadway Avenue in Aurora, was arrested Jan. 19 at 1:52 a.m. for driving with a suspended license and improper lane usage, according to an Oswego police report.

An 18-year-old man from Sheridan failed to reduce speed to avoid an accident, according to a police report. Logan J. Durland was cited Jan. 17 at 4:20 p.m.
Alan E. Gonzalez, 25, of the 300 block of Oxford Court, was arrested Jan. 18 at 2:50 a.m., according to a police report. He was charged on an FTA Warrant from DuPage County and obstructing justice. The arrest happened near 2700 Route 34 and Douglas Road.

A 23-year-old Aurora man struck a guard rail Jan. 18 at 7:45 a.m. near Orchard Road and Mill Road. He was not injured or cited, police said.
A domestic battery incident occurred at the Meijer gas station Jan. 16 at 8:54 p.m., cops said. A 17-year-old Oswego woman reported injuries. The suspect is a 24-year-old man Glendale Heights.
Jan. 16 at 9 p.m. near the corner of Route 34 and Chesterfield Drive, 20-year-old Daniel Duran-Vaquera, of May Street in Aurora, was arrested for driving with a suspended license, police said.
A man and woman are believed to have stolen $127 worth of art supplies from Hobby Lobby Dec. 23. The incident was reported Jan. 16. The suspects were described as a white man and woman, both around 25 years old. The man had a thin build and the woman had a medium build, according to the police report.
A 76-year-old woman reported an account had been opened in her name. Police are investigating. The incident was reported Jan. 16.
Madhura V. Kulkarni, 30, of Rosehall Lane in Aurora, was arrested Jan. 16 at 11:47 a.m. for failure to yield at an intersection, police said. Kulkarni was driving a van. The other driver from Montgomery was driving a pickup truck. The accident happened near the corner of Wolf Road and Fifth Street.
Police said Jan. 16 at 9:15 a.m., Tamera L. Davis, 21, of Carol Stream, was charged with a failure to appear warrant from Kendall County for consumption of liquor by a minor.
Police investigated a 2-car accident that occurred Jan. 15 at 7:51 p.m. near Douglas Road at Townes Crossing. One 41-year-old passenger was injured. There were no charges or arrests.
At an unknown date and time, a sign was damaged in front of someone’s business, according to a business complaint reported Jan. 15. The business is located in the 0 - 100 block of Washington Street.
Jan. 15 at 2:55 p.m., a retail theft incident was reported with Oswego Police. A $100 cell phone was stolen, according to the report. The suspect is described as a white man standing about six feet, one inch tall, 180 pounds, around 40 years old with a medium build.
Ricky R. Wilson, 48, of Oswego, was charged with a DUI Jan. 14. The accident happened at 1:40 a.m. at the 3000 block of Orchard Road near Route 34, police said.
A 28-year-old passenger from Plainfield and a 47-year-old driver from Aurora, in different vehicles, reported injuries from an accident that occurred Jan. 13 at around 1:05 p.m. near the corner of Route 34 and Heritage Drive. An SUV with the injured driver was rear ended by the other car. The injured passenger was taken to the hospital.
Jacquelyn K. Dempster, 37, of Aurora, was arrested Jan. 13 at for an incident that happened at 3:49 p.m. She was charged with felony retail theft and battery, according to the police report. Injuries were reported. The location of the incident was at the 3000 block of Route 34.
