OSWEGO, IL — The Oswego Senior Center is offering free tax filing help to local seniors who make less than $55,000 a year. Specialists are available by appointment on Mondays.

Officials say to bring a photo ID, social security cards for you, your spouse and dependents, proof of foreign status if applying for ITIN, birth dates for you, your spouse and dependents, wage and earning statements, W-2s and other tax forms from all employers, health insurance exemption certificate, a copy of last year's federal and state tax returns and bank account and routing information for direct deposit.

To file taxes electronically on a married-filing-joint tax return, both spouses must be present to sign the required forms, officials say.
