Oswego Trustees Question Plan For Shooting Simulator Business
The proposed business would cater to those with concealed carry permits

Bhairvi Brown and Joseph Bonifas proposed a virtual shooting range for Oswego at a village board meeting on Tuesday, according to Kendall County Now. The business would be called BJ’s Shooting, and it would be located at 1565 and 1567 Route 34.“It’s 100 percent safe. It’s similar to going into a golf simulator,” Brown said according to Kendall County Now. He said that customers would engage in scenarios, such as the 'OK Corral' or a zombie hunt. Bonifas said their business would cater to those with concealed carry permits, but it would host children's birthday parties and office team building events too. Those with concealed carry licenses would be required to place their weapons in a lock box before entering the simulation area. Trustee Pam Parr said she didn't like the idea of "live weapons" and children's birthday parties in the same building. Trustee Joe West also expressed concern. “I’m against this basic theme unless it’s only for law enforcement and those who have been through background checks,” Trustee West said according to Kendall County Now. Board members praised the innovative business idea and suggested that the pair meet with the police chief when re-working their plan. Brown and Bonifas are expected to speak with the village board again on May 2.
