Pedestrian Hit On Mill Road Dies: Oswego Police
The incident happened on Mill Road around 6:40 a.m. Thursday. Police said the 32-year-old pedestrian died at the hospital from his injuries.
OSWEGO, IL — A 32-year-old man died Thursday morning after being hit by a car on Mill Road, Oswego police said.
Antonio J. Villarreal, who lived in Oswego, was crossing Mill Road at Washington Street and Lynx Avenue around 6:40 a.m. when he was hit by a Nissan Sentra that was heading east on Mill Road, according to the preliminary investigation. The driver, 19-year-old Jaylin K. Buckner of Oswego, was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian at a crosswalk, police said.
Villarreal was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries, according to Oswego police. Buckner was also taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The portion of Mill Road was closed for about four and a half hours as the police reconstructed the collision. The road opened to traffic around 11 a.m.
Oswego police said the crash is still under investigation.
