Petition Circulating to Keep Students at Traughber Junior High

OSWEGO, IL — An online petition is being circulated for Lakewood Creek subdivision parents concerned about where their kids will be attending school.

The petition asks for all seventh and eighth grade students to be grandfathered into attending Traughber Junior High School.

The petition claims students in this age group have an “immense epidemic of major depression and anxiety” and that uprooting the kids will have a large impact on their academic, emotional and social stability.

“We appeal to grandfather ALL affected 7th and 8th grade students into our current school, Traughber Junior High for the 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 school years in Map B. We still strongly stand behind Map C,” the petition states.
