Pumpkin Races Head to Oswego This Weekend

Could your jack-o'-lantern be the next winner of Oswego's annual pumpkin race?

Find out this Saturday, Oct. 15, during the Oswegoland Optimist Club's Pumpkin Races. The sixth annual event is based on a simple step-by-step concept:

• Carve a pumpkin
• Decorate it
• Insert two, independent axles and their respective wheels
• Roll your pumpkin down a hill to victory

Registration opens at 11 am and races begin at noon at the corner of Main Street and Jackson in downtown Oswego. Proceeds fund the Oswegoland Optimist Club’s Christmas Project.
