OSWEGO, IL — New residents have started moving in to the luxury apartment community overlooking Hudson Crossing Park and the Fox River in downtown Oswego. The village, along with the developers Shodeen Group, cut the ribbon on the residential portion of the building on Thursday afternoon.

Once fully complete, the Reserve at Hudson Crossing will include 280 apartments in two six-story
buildings, plus nearly 10,000 square feet of commercial, restaurant, and retail space. In addition, the development includes two levels of enclosed heated parking decks which will serve residents and provide free public parking for shoppers and diners in downtown Oswego. The parking decks are anticipated to open to the public this spring.

Plans for Hudson Crossing — the $69 million development project — were approved in 2017, with the village agreeing to contribute $7 million in funds that are eligible for reimbursement through a tax increment financing district. The village will eventually own the development's parking decks.

"The Reserve at Hudson Crossing is bringing new residents to frequent the great local shops and
restaurants that already make our downtown unique," said Village President Troy Parlier. "It'll bring new, modern commercial space to expand shopping and dining options for all our residents. Our hope is that the addition of new residents, new commercial space, and new public parking will support and bring renewed attention to downtown Oswego."

New residents will enjoy apartments featuring high-speed fiber connections, stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, in-unit washers and dryers, and balconies or private patios. The Reserve at Hudson Crossing is a pet-friendly community and features a fitness center, entertainment area, outdoor pool, fire pits, grilling stations and a beautifully landscaped courtyard.

"There’s been a lot of excitement and interest in the retail, restaurant and commercial possibilities available at The Reserve of Hudson Crossing," said Dan Meisinger, broker for the Shodeen Group. "The 26-foot ceilings would allow for a mezzanine level if a tenant desired and the space has direct access to the climate-controlled public parking garage. We are currently working with a restaurant and separate entertainment business interested in being part of the newly revitalized downtown Oswego business district."

Angie Hibben, president of the Oswego Chamber of Commerce, said as residents move in and new businesses and restaurants open along Main Street, more foot traffic will lead to increased "excitement in the downtown area."

"The diversity of offerings will benefit local residents and attract customers from surroundings communities," she said. " This commitment to the growth of the downtown area serves to create a vibrant business district and beautiful visitor destination along the Fox River."

On-site leasing for The Reserve at Hudson Crossing is located at 77 S. Adams St. Visit www.shodeen.com for more information.
