UPDATE: Route 71 at Orchard Now Open Following Downed Power Line
A semi hauling a CAT struck power lines at the intersection.
5:10 p.m.
Oswego Police have said the route is back open.
2:40 p.m.
The roads may be a little less icy, but accidents still happen.
Route 71 at Orchard and Minkler Road heading out of Oswego is currently shut down due to downed power lines, according to Oswego police.
The accident happened at about 1 p.m.
Northern Illinois Fireground reported that that a semi hauling a CAT pulled down power lines at the intersection.
As of 2:30 p.m., Route 71 is blocked going west by police and the CAT has been removed.
Comed and AT&T are on scene and a large cable is still lying across Route 71.
