Squad Car Hit By Sliding Vehicle: Kendall County Sheriff's Office

No one was injured in the crash, but the Kendall County Sheriff's Office is urging motorists to drive safely in the wintry conditions.

KENDALL COUNTY, IL — A Kendall County Sheriff squad car was struck by a motorist who lost control of their vehicle this morning, the Kendall County Sheriff's Office said. A Jan. 31 post on the Sheriff's Office Facebook page claimed that while a deputy was assisting a vehicle that had crashed on Eldamain Road north of Corneils, another driver slid and struck his unoccupied squad car on the side of the road.

No injuries were reported from the scene, but the the Facebook post urged people to drive safely as road conditions take a turn for the worst.

"Roads are icy! Be careful!! KCSO is responding to several crashes and cars in the ditch. Long delays on Eldamain Road, north of Corneils," the post read. "Squad [car] got hit while helping a citizen. Please give us a break, slow down!!"

The Sheriff's Office did not provide the name of the officer whose car was struck, or say if the motorist who struck him would face any charges.
