"SPRING CRAFT FAIR

The Oswego Senior Center is hosting a craft fair featuring up to 90 crafters & artisans at 156 E. Washington Street, Oswego, in the gymnasium, dining room, library and hallways. Free admission, door prizes and raffles. For more information call 630-554-5602.

Winter got you down? We are channeling summer at the Oswego Senior Center with an old-fashioned ice cream social & musical bingo. Cost is free to seniors; RSVP is required. Call 630-554-5602 to sign up.
VALENTINE DINNER DANCE
Saturday, February 11: 5-9pm
Celebrate Valentine’s Day at the Kickers Club, 1015 Harvey Road in Oswego, for an evening of dinner and dancing in their banquet hall. Sponsored by the Oswego Senior Center - tickets $20 each, $35 for two. Includes full dinner with soft drinks; cash bar. Visit the Oswego Senior Center, 156 E. COMPUTER CLASSES FOR SENIORS
The Oswego Senior Center provides free computer and mobile device technology classes and one-on-one assistance for seniors. Registration is required. Contact Sharon at 630-554-5602 to sign up for a class or individual assistance.
Classes will run in the computer lab at the Oswego Senior Center, 156 E. Washington Street on the following dates:
- Transferring Pictures from New Camera to Computer – January 24 from 1-2:30pm, sign up required.
- Preventing Spyware on Your Computer – January 31 from 1-2:30pm, sign up required.
INTERNATIONAL COOKING CLASSES:
Greek Cuisine
Friday, January 27: 12 – 2pm
We are heading to Greece this month for our international cooking class! We will be making Spanakopita and Moussaka in this hands-on class. Cooking classes are $5 per person, and are held at the Oswego Senior Center, 156 E. Washington Street. Space is limited to 10 people per program; RSVP is required – 630-554-5602. Must have a minimum of 4 people.
CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUP
Friday, January 20: 10 – 11 am
Many times we find ourselves in caregiver roles. Finding support among peers is a great opportunity to find resources and camaraderie in what can be a difficult life experience. This group will be facilitated by Keith Bielema of Kendall County Health Department. Group meets at the Oswego Senior Center, 156 E. Washington Street. Call 630-554-5602 for more information.
ARM CHAIR TRAVELS
Tuesday, January 31: 1pm
Join us at the Oswego Senior Center as we explore Chicago and the suburbs through WTTW’s Geoffrey Baer’s Chicago: The Complete Tour Collection (DVD’s) without commercial interruption! This month we will learn about Chicago’s boulevard system – the first in the country in the 1860’s. Program takes place at 156 E. Washington Street – popcorn provided. CELEBRATE MARDI GRAS

Join the Oswego Senior Center for luncheon and Mardi Gras celebration at the Diplomat West in Elmhurst on Tuesday, February 28. We will depart at 10am via small bus from the senior center, 156 E. Celebrate President’s Day with this special performance taking place at the Jacob Henry Mansion in Joliet. Departure is from the Oswego Senior Center, 156 E. POLKA FEST

Mark your calendars for March 29; the Oswego Senior Center is traveling to Niles to dine on Polish food and enjoy music by The Ampolaires at White Eagle Banquets & Restaurant. Bus leaves 156 E. PATTY WASZAK SHOW
May 16, 2016: 12 – 3pm
The Oswego Senior Center is travelling to White Fence Farm in Romeoville for lunch and a high-energy, heart-warming musical show. Bus departs 156 E. Washington Street at 11 am, returning 4pm. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The Oswego Senior Center has multiple opportunities for volunteerism, for all ages, individuals and groups throughout the year. If you are interested in volunteering, please call Ruth Mattson for a volunteer application and interview, 630-554-5602 or email volunteer@oswegoseniorcenter.org. Current positions available:
- Kids Younger than 14: Make Valentine or spring crafts or cards at home and drop off at the senior center for distribution.
- Van Driver: Must be over 21 years of age and have a clean driving record; some experience driving a 12-passenger van would be ideal, but not required. Will train. Van is used to transport our choral group to events, day trips in area and to Chicago, shopping; substitute driver for meal days as needed. Contact Pat Feeley at 630-5545-5602."
