Van Buren Street Closes Thursday For Sewer Work

OSWEGO, IL — Van Buren Street in downtown Oswego will close Thursday for repairs. The closure is expected to last only one day.
Crews will close a portion of Van Buren Street at Adams Street to replace a water main, the village said in a news release. The road will be closed to traffic, but businesses in the area will remain accessible. The village is asking residents to use Main Street, rather than Adams Street, the get to businesses on Van Buren Street.
Van Buren Street is seeing work as part of the redevelopment of downtown's Block 11. The village started last week on public improvements to the square block, which will include new water mains, buried utility lines and improved streetscapes.

Next month, work will begin on the $69 million Hudson Crossing development, which will require public infrastructure improvement to make way for 245 apartments and over 10,000 square feet of retail space.
