Yorkville Schools Are Closed Monday Due To Snow: Officials

Classes are expected to resume Tuesday, but stay tuned for further updates.

YORKVILLE, IL — Yorkville Schools will be closed Monday, Jan. 28, due to weather, officials announced Sunday Night.

"After consulting with the appropriate professionals at the local, state, and national level, I regret to inform you that school is canceled for tomorrow, Monday, January 28, due to the expected timing and amount of the predicted snowfall," said Yorkview School District superintendent Tim Shimp in an email to parents.

The National Weather Service says to expect heavy, blowing snow, with limited visibility and accumulations of 3 to 7 inches.
