2 Shot At Palatine Home Late Tuesday, Marijuana Recovered

The Cook County Sheriff's office said one man was shot in the leg and another in the hand. Both are in good condition at local hospitals.

PALATINE, IL — Two people are listed in good condition after sustaining gunshot wounds on Tuesday night, the Cook County Sheriff's Office said.

Police responded to a call of shots fired on the 2300 block of West Nichols Avenue in Palatine Township at around 11 p.m. Tuesday. Officials said paramedics identified one man who was shot in the leg and took him to Lutheran General Hospital.

Witnesses told police there was another gunshot victim who drove away from the scene. He was later found at Northwestern Community Hospital with a gunshot wound to his hand, according to Cook County Sheriff's spokeswoman Kathy Carmody.

Neither of their names have been released.

Police said they were told two men aside from the victims fled the scene after the shooting. A weapon was located on the ground nearby, along with a small amount of marijuana and a single shoe.

The investigation is still ongoing, according to Carmody.
