Arts and Business Successfull Together in 2018

Local Palatine businesses supported the community behind the scenes by teaming up with Emerald City Music Prod., Inc. on concerts & events.

It seems like a long time ago towards the beginning of 2018 when I looked to the upcoming year thinking.. can we do it?! It's going to be a lot of fun, and a lot of work.

Now that we are nearing the end of the year, an inventory of all our activities brings me to say a hearty thank you! To all the wonderful businesses that cheerily supported the special events and concerts we produced in 2018 for the residents of Palatine and the surrounding areas.

Offering little windows of fun and interest during the year, these concerts and events, that are a bit out of the ordinary and sometimes not what is expected, keeps us all on our toes and our imaginations and creativity flowing and open. Without the support of these fine local businesses, the events may have been quite different. It takes money to create an event.

As a producer, I can choose to focus on the financial aspect as the main goal leaving the spirit of the event and the intention with which it was created, on the back burner as not so important. Or as an artist and event designer, I can choose to focus mainly on the spirit and design of the event and forget there are humans or finances involved. As a consumer of tickets for special events and concerts, I can choose to focus on what I'm getting for my dollar and hold the organizer strictly to it, forgetting that it's my own experience and what I make of it sometimes that creates the event for myself. All these perspectives are what I, as an executive producer keep in mind when pulling together an event plan and bringing it to fruition. Without the support of others businesses and those who see the importance of bringing new, different, and fresh ideas to town for the community to grow, learn, and enjoy, towns can stagnate. These local businesses that supported the events, each work very hard in their own "fields" and have the graciousness and generosity to share some of their "harvest" with the community. So I say a very warm and grateful THANK YOU! to all the businesses that supported our community events and concerts all year, and helped us round out the day to day living experiences. Merry Christmas!

Sincerely,
