Coronavirus In Palatine: 2 Deaths, 190 Cases
The latest look on the number of coronavirus cases and deaths, according to health department and medical examiner's reports.
PALATINE, IL — Palatine has 190 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus and two deaths reported in its village limits as of Thursday, according to county health officials. Among the areas hardest hit in suburban Cook County are Des Plaines, where there have been 881 confirmed cases and 22 deaths; Niles, which has 705 cases and 20 deaths; and Glenview, where 510 people have tested positive for the virus and 17 have died, according to the Suburban Cook County Health Department's COVID-19 surveillance data website and the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office website.

Towns near Palatine reported the following number of cases as of Thursday: Arlington Heights has 146 confirmed cases and two deaths, Schaumburg has 158 cases and five deaths and Hoffman Estates has 187 cases and four deaths, according to the health department.
Throughout suburban Cook County, there have been 10,738 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 501 deaths.

Throughout the state, 7,695 have tested positive for the new coronavirus and 157 have died, state officials announced Thursday afternoon. In the past 24 hours, there have been 715 new coronavirus cases reported in Illinois.
