Elizabeth Sciortino, 70, Palatine

Elizabeth Sciortino, nee Lewandowski, 70, of Palatine, passed away Dec. 19.

Born January 13, 1943, in Feldhause, Germany, Elizabeth was the beloved wife of John; loving mother of Jeffrey Sciortino and Kristine (Mark) Vander Ploeg; cherished grandmother of Kayla Rose; and dear sister of Stanley Lewandowski.

Elizabeth dedicated her life to educating children as a TPI tutor for Palatine School District 15.

Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Hwy., in Palatine. The funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, also at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home. A 10 a.m. mass will follow the funeral service at St. Thomas of Villanova. Interment will be at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Elizabeth's name to the American Lung Association, 3000 Kelly Lane, Springfield, IL 62711 would be greatly appreciated.
