ICYMI: Ex-Palatine Teacher Acquitted Of Battery Of Student
Former teacher Sue Ellen Patkunas was accused of throwing a laptop at a student's face during an argument over earbuds.
PALATINE, IL — A former teacher at Winston Campus Junior High was acquitted of battery by a judge following a fight with a student over ear buds nearly a year ago. The teacher, Sue Ellen Patkunas, was accused of hitting the student in the face with a laptop computer in January, according to ABC 7.
Police said the student refused to remove their ear buds, per Patkunas' instructions, which led to Patkunas physically pulling the cord attached to the ear buds to remove them
Patkunas resigned from her position following the incident. Read more via ABC 7.
