Fire Damages All Units In Brice Court Townhome

The fire damaged all four units in the townhome, and smoke spread to the next structure, according to the Palatine Fire Department.

PALATINE, IL — A fire damaged all units of a townhome in the 1900 block of Brice Court in Palatine Wednesday. The Palatine Fire Department was called to the townhome at 3:43 p.m. for smoke on the first floor, and while en route, the call was upgraded due to police reporting seeing heavy smoke when they arrived, according to a news release from the Palatine Fire Department.

Fire department crews got inside the building and found smoke in the hallway on the first and second floors, according to the news release. Once inside the units, the fire was found in the adjoining walls on the first floor and extended up into the second floor walls.

Crews used a hose line to quickly put out the flames, and the fire was declared under control at 4:12 p.m., according to the news release.

The fire damaged all four units in the townhome and smoke spread to the next structure, according to the fire department.

No one was hurt in the fire and its cause is still being investigated, the fire department said.

Damage estimates are not available, however, all four units are now unlivable, according to the news release.
