Man Accused Of Criminal Sex Assault In Palatine

PALATINE, IL — Palatine police arrested Shamarlo T. Turnage, 30, Wednesday from the 1100 block of S. Kedzie Avenue in Chicago on accusations of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, the Palatine Police Department announced in a Friday news release. The arrest followed an investigation involving a juvenile who said they were abused at a home in Palatine by now- identified Turnage, police reported.

Turnage faces one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, the news release said.

On Thursday, Palatine police brought Turnage to the Cook County Third District Courthouse in Rolling Meadows, where his bond was set at $100,000 — with 10 percent to apply, according to police. According to the news release, the court ordered electronic home monitoring should Turnage post bond, and he is also ordered to have no contact with the victim or anyone under 18 years old.

Turnage's next court date is scheduled for Oct. 23 at the Cook County Third District Courthouse in Rolling Meadows.
