Man Put Tracking Devices Found By Palatine Police On Ex's Car
The man admitted to using a device to monitor the victim while there was an active Order of Protection against him, Palatine police said.

PALATINE, IL — A Buffalo Grove man was arrested on Sept. 10 on accusations of stalking a woman who authorities said was his ex-girlfriend, and admitting to buying and putting tracking devices on her car. According to a news release from the Palatine Police Department, the victim made unexpected contact on June 12 with 58-year-old Leonid Mileykovsky, in Niles, and again a few days later in Wheeling. After the last encounter, the victim found a small GPS tracking device on her car, and when confronted, Mileykovsky admitted to putting two GPS tracking devices on her car, the news release said.
The victim then got an active Order of Protection against Mileykovsky, police said.
From June 27 to Aug. 30, she found six more tracking devices on her car, according to the news release. Palatine police recovered seven GPS tracking devices, and an investigation confirmed that all of the devises were registered to Mileykovsky, the news release said. Detectives also found an app on Mileykovsky's cell phone, which he's accused of using with the GPS devices to electronically spy on the victim between June 12 and Sept. 10.

According to police, Mileykovsky admitted to purchasing and applying GPS tracking devices to the victim’s vehicle at least five separate times, one of which was used to monitor the victim while there was an active Order of Protection against him.

According to the news release, Mileykovsky faces one count of aggravated stalking and one count of stalking, both felonies. He was taken to the Criminal Court Building in Chicago where his bond was set at $10,000 with 10 percent to apply by Judge Beach, police said, adding that if he posts bond, he will be placed on electronic monitoring.
Mileykovsky's next court date is set for Oct. 1 in Rolling Meadows.
