Man Thrown From Motorcycle, Hit by Semi: Police

The 23-year-old man died following a crash on I-90 Monday afternoon.

COOK COUNTY, IL — A motorcyclist who lost control of his vehicle Monday afternoon and was thrown in front of a semi on I-90 has died, authorities said. The collision happened at 1:27 p.m. when a red Suzuki motorcycle was merging onto eastbound I-90 from the ramp at Beverly Road in Hoffman Estates. When the driver of the motorcycle lost control, he was thrown into traffic and hit by the semi, according to a news release from the Illinois State Police.

The motorcyclist, Matthew Studinger, 23, of Decatur, was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the semi, Mykhailo Demchenko, 28, of Sarasota, Florida, was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
