Palatine Jaycees Annual Christmas Tree Sale Dates, Details

The Palatine Jaycees will host their annual Christmas Tree Sale to raise funds for individuals and civic groups throughout Palatine.

PALATINE, IL — A tradition in Palatine will still take place despite many changes and cancellations this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Palatine Jaycees Christmas tree lot opens Friday at the Palatine Aquatic Center parking lot, 340 E. Palatine Rd. — next to Walgreens. The tree lot is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Dec. 20, while supplies last.

According to the Palatine Jaycees, they will have five kinds of fresh trees in all sizes, in addition to wreaths and garland.

The Jaycees added that they'll follow all recommended safety concerns, including limiting the number of patrons, if necessary, requiring face masks and providing hand sanitizer.

The Jaycees will also provide a Mailbox for Santa, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, Santa will not be available for photos. The Jaycees said children can send a letter to Santa in the special mailbox at the Christmas tree lot, adding that if the child’s letter includes a "legible return address, Santa will reply to any letter delivered to the box by December 13."

“We provide a variety of extra services for our customers," Kim King, co-chair of the project stated on the Jaycee's website. "Baling is available to make transporting your tree easier. We also offer drilling services for specialized tree stands."

Credit cards, checks and cash will be accepted as forms of payment.

According to co-chair Lindsay Schubel Nagle, all proceeds from the Christmas tree lot sale allow the Palatine Jaycees to continue their community involvement.
