Palatine Laundromat Reopens; Fitness Studio Adds Virtual Workouts

Two Palatine businesses provide updates and new services for customers across the area.

PALATINE, IL — After being closed for a year, a local laundromat is back open — and with a new name. Formerly Kohl's Corner, the new and improved Rock & Roll Laundromat is now open seven days a week, at 1550 N. Rand Road in Palatine (behind Speedway), Palatine neighbor Cliff Curtis told Patch.

There are 111 washers and dryers at this business, which according to Curtis means there is "no waiting," and it's open from 7 a.m. until last wash at 9 p.m. The laundromat is also fully attended by friendly staff, is clean and is filled with giant washing machines and mega-size dryers.

If you'd like to get a workout in while waiting for your laundry to be done, or if you're simply looking to stay active during the pandemic, MocaFit, 325 W. Northwest Highway in Palatine, is adding virtual training to their services to help you do just that amid the coronavirus pandemic and rising cases.

Palatine neighbor and personal trainer at MocaFit, Patryk Pajor, told Patch the MocaFit team also provides at-home workouts, and can come to those who have equipment at their home.

In addition, Pajor added that the MocaFit studio is "maintained to the highest covid standards," as they're working hard to make the studio as safe as possible. According to Pajor, studio equipment is sanitized after every use, and the floor and turf are cleaned and sanitized daily.
