PALATINE, IL — Village officials in Palatine are looking into a request from St. Mary's Services to hold a Queen of Hearts raffle at Tap House Grill, the Daily Herald is reporting. If the city signs off on the non-profit organization's request, St. Mary's Services would use the proceeds from the Queen of Hearts drawing for its Hopeful Beginnings program.

The program offers teen parenting education and free counseling for women who face an unplanned pregnancy, according to the article. Palatine has restrictions in place regarding non-profit organizations hosting raffles at businesses so St. Mary's Services is requesting a waiver to the village ordinance in order to have it at the Palatine business.

Village officials are researching the request with plans to revisit it in the future.
