Palatine Malt Shoppe Pushes To Stay Afloat
Here's what Daisy's Malt Shoppe is doing now after the first wave of the coronavirus took a massive toll on the business over the summer.
PALATINE, IL — A Palatine business is putting up a fight against the coronavirus pandemic's second wave after the first one took a massive toll on the business during the summer.
Daisy's Malt Shoppe, located at 807 N. Quentin Road, is working hard to stay afloat by staying open during the off season from 4:30 p.m. to 10:30 pm. seven days a week, according to its Facebook page.
"Though our business is selling tasty ice cream, our passion is making our customers happy, and bringing together the community through a shared love for dessert," Ellie Roy who created a GoFundMe fundraiser for the malt shoppe, wrote in a press release sent to Patch. "As you know covid is hitting small businesses extra hard. The first wave of this virus took a giant toll on our summer season, and with this second wave, keeping our doors open is becoming more and more difficult."

The GoFundMe page was created Sunday, and more than $1,700 of the $10,000 goal had been raised as of Monday afternoon.
On Nov. 9, the business announced some updates for the upcoming holiday season. These included some online ordering details, prepacked pint flavors, gift card and Customer Loyalty Rewards information and much more.

"For those who are unsure how to locate the online ordering site, it can be found at ‘toast tab.com/daisys-malt-shoppe-807-n-quentin-rd or download the ‘Toast Takeout App’ and search for Daisy’s Malt Shoppe," the business stated on their Facebook page.
