Palatine Man Accused Of Sexually Abusing Two Girls
Edison Banares, 72, of Palatine has been charged with predatory criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

PALATINE, IL — A Palatine man is accused of sexually abused two girls over a seven-year period. Edison Banares, 72, has been charged with predatory criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
According to the Cook County Sheriff's Office, he was booked into the jail on Thursday.
In Sept. 20, the Department of Children and Family Services notified Palatine police investigators that they had received a report of two minor victims who indicated Banares had sexually assaulted and abused them from 2010 to 2017, police said.

According to officers, the investigation revealed these crimes took place at a location in Mount Prospect and Banares' home in Palatine.
Banares recently appeared before a Cook County judge who set his bond at $200,000. The judge ordered that Banares be placed on electronic monitoring should he make bail.
