Palatine Man Arrested on Charge of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault
The man allegedly touched an 11-year-old inappropriately while she was in the care of his girlfriend.
Jose Alfredo Vargas-Guzman, 45, of the 800 block of N. Bayside Drive in Palatine was arrested on April 8 on a charge of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, police reported.
Palatine police reported about a month ago, while Vargas-Guzman’s girlfriend/roommate was babysitting the victim, Vargas-Guzman inappropriately touched the 11-year-old in a sexual manner, police said in a written release.
Vargas-Guzman’s girlfriend/roommate was unaware that this occurred while she was in the apartment. Palatine Police have had no prior contact with Vargas-Guzman before this case.

Vargas-Guzman’s bond is set at $250,000 and his next court date is April 30.
