Palatine Police Say 'Lock Your Car Doors' After Recent Car Thefts

Palatine police also issued a reminder to never leave keys or key fobs in cars following two recent car thefts.

PALATINE, IL — After two car thefts in recent days, the Palatine Police Crime Prevention unit reminds residents to lock your car doors, even while at home. According to a Village Facebook post, police also issued a reminder to never leave keys or key fobs in cars.

Police are out in full force and will continue to crack down on impaired drivers and those violating state seat belt laws through Monday.

The Palatine Police Department joins the Illinois State Police and more than 200 local police and sheriff's departments for the increased statewide enforcement effort, according to Palatine police.
