Palatine Teen Accused Of Stealing Credit Cards From Parked Car

The 18-year-old man allegedly used 2 of the cards at various retailers in the area, according to Palatine police.

PALATINE, IL — An 18-year-old Palatine man is accused breaking into a car, stealing credit and bank cards and then using those cards illegally, according to Palatine police. Denzel J. Thompson, of the 1100 block East Cunningham Drive, was charged with two counts of felony unlawful use of a credit card and a single count of felony burglary, police said Wednesday.

Officers responded to a call at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, concerning a man who entered the victim's parked car. The man, who was later identified as Thompson, fled when he realized he was being watched, police said.

Later, officers caught up with Thompson, who still had the credit and bank cards. According to police, Thompson allegedly used two of the cards illegally at various retailers in the area.

Once in custody, Thompson was ordered held on $15,000 bond. His next court date is Aug. 31.
